Hawaii is an archipelago of twenty-four islands located in the North Pacific Ocean. The archipelago stretches from northwest to southeast - it is of volcanic origin. Oahu is likely to be a wonderful place for having a rest. Many tourists come to these islands to go diving. The Hawaiian Islands are home to many endemic species. Plant and animal life on the island has evolved in almost total isolation for 70 million years. Then the arrival of humans brought new plants and animals. Locals are engaged in growing vegetables and exotic fruit and selling in the market places that seemed to be very strange to us, for example. Some fruit like passion fruit is sold very rarely though the fields of them are huge. Most of the tourist areas are located on the leeward coast. Such entertainment like scuba diving is widely developed in these islands. Each time the necessary equipment and professional instructors are available - everything is at your service. Oahu is the third largest and most populated island of the Hawaiian archipelago. The area of the island, including the adjacent small islands is about 1,5 km2. Maximum length of the island is 71 km; the minimum length is 48 km. The coastline is 366 km. The territory of Oahu takes longest river archipelago Kaukonahua (53 km). We went to that direction as well while starting diving. Many visitors first try scuba diving in these places. It also provides all necessary equipment. You can go diving into the ocean after a few lessons on the river. |
